John Janezic

John is the founder of The Early Bird Special Variety Show. He is an Arizona award-winning actor, storyteller, and comedian.  For over 35 years, he has been involved in numerous theatre productions, both in Milwaukee and Arizona, as well as film, tv commercials and professional wrestling. John has published two children’s books, “Because Cockroaches Rule” and “100% Loved.” John is a ventriloquist and incorporates his puppets with storytelling. The goal of the Early Bird Special is to worm our way into your funny bone and leave you squawking for more.

Jennifer Janezic

Jennifer started performing at the age of 6. She holds two degrees. One in Dance and the other in Culinary Arts. She can bake a killer wedding cake and serve the guests while dancing en pointe. Jennifer has been in numerous productions; The majority being musicals. She is a proud Early Bird and would like to thank all who support the perfuming arts. She is originally from Greendale, WI and has resided in Mesa, AZ since 2000.

Rob Trygg

Glen Fiddich: Born in 1887, Glen has a perpetual twinkle in his bloodshot eyes and a mischievous grin that could charm the buttons off a sheriff’s uniform. Glen is the life of the party… or the wake… or the courtroom – anywhere there’s a crowd to entertain. He is a man of contradictions – a gentleman with the poise of a poet, the vocabulary of a sailor, and the liver of a professional beer taster. Cheers to Glen – may his glass never be empty, and his jokes never dry.

Molly Jisa

Molly has been a part of the Early Bird Special since 2018. Previous notable credits in the valley include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors and Ulla in The Producers. Molly will graduate in July with a Masters of Arts in Political Psychology. When not making a fool of herself on stage, she can be found hanging out with her mail order husband and their two dogs. As the token millennial of EBS, she’s here to set the record straight that avocado toast is one of the five main food groups!

Jerry Maggio

Jerry is originally from NY, where he performed in regional and community theatre for over 20 years. He’s been in AZ for over 5 years now and proud to be part of The Early Bird Special crew! His other AZ performance experience has been with Zao Theatre (The Music Man and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown). Some of Jerry’s favorite past roles/shows include: Coneybear in Spelling Bee, Malcolm in The Full Monty, Rev. Moore in Footloose, Warbucks in Annie, and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. Never forget- bird is the WORD!

Bobby Maurer

Bobby Maurer: Bobby is a brat eating, bubbler drinking, highlife living guy whose comedic style was tapped in Brew City, USA. His hard- working and hard playing style is drawn from the smells and sounds, mostly smells, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bobby’s quick witted and equipped with an innate ability to see things from a twisted view.  Destined to be the Village idiot, but in a good way, his shy to the point of brashness approach made him beloved by both Crooks and Sages. In high school Bobby was voted most likely to “Perform at a cemetery and get a standing ovation”

Dr. Jason Myrowitz

Dr. Jason Myrowitz spends most of his time laughing at the word “logorrhea.” Additionally, he is a professor at Northern Arizona University, vice president of the board of directors for BATS (Bay Area Theatre Society), and a former contestant on GSN’s MasterMinds, where he narrowly lost to Jeopardy host Ken Jennings by one question in the final round. His improvisation credits include the National Comedy Theatre, Names from a Hat, and Jesterz prior to joining The Early Bird Special in 2018. Jason was born in Baltimore, but he has lived all over the country and enjoys traveling almost as much as ringing doorbells and lighting poop on fire.

Louie the Roach

Louie always had a knack for making everyone laugh. With his quirky personality and his ability to find humor in the smallest of things (usually scraps of food) Louie knew how to work a room. From the dirty alleyways to the sewers, his reputation as the funniest roach in town spread faster than a cockroach infestation in a greasy diner. With his quick wit, infectious energy, and unwavering confidence, Louie The Roach became a comedy legend in the insect world and beyond.
